Product details

The Pentair 523035 is the genuine 50 watt high output UV lamp for the residential BioShield UV sanitizer, model 522635. It is the part to order when the lamp reaches the end of its rated hours or fails.

Why replace on schedule

A UV lamp keeps glowing long after its germicidal output has dropped. The BioShield only does its job at the dose it was designed for, so the lamp should be changed on the interval in the guide, not when it finally goes dark.

Before you order

Confirm your unit is the 50 watt model 522635. The 80 watt BioShield takes a different lamp. The quartz sleeve and the UV seal kit are separate parts, and it is worth inspecting both when the lamp is out.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which BioShield does this lamp fit?
The residential 50 watt BioShield, model 522635. The 80 watt BioShield uses a different lamp.
Is the quartz sleeve included?
No. The 22.25 in. quartz sleeve for model 522635 is a separate part, as is the UV seal kit.
Is this a genuine Pentair lamp?
Yes. It is Pentair part 523035.
How do I know the lamp needs replacing?
UV lamps lose output over their running hours even while they still glow. Follow the replacement interval in the BioShield guide rather than waiting for the lamp to fail outright.
