The Pentair 523035 is the genuine 50 watt high output UV lamp for the residential BioShield UV sanitizer, model 522635. It is the part to order when the lamp reaches the end of its rated hours or fails.

Why replace on schedule

A UV lamp keeps glowing long after its germicidal output has dropped. The BioShield only does its job at the dose it was designed for, so the lamp should be changed on the interval in the guide, not when it finally goes dark.
