Product details

The Baker Hydro 00B8083 is the V-band clamp assembly for HRV filters, supplied with both the clamp and the nut. It measures 8-1/4 inches inside and 9 inches outside.

What it holds together

A V-band clamp is what keeps a split filter body closed. The two halves of the tank meet on a seal, and the band draws them together evenly all the way around so the joint holds under system pressure. It is listed for Baker Hydro HRV side mount sand filters, Baker Hydro II top mount sand filters, and the HRC-300 and HRC-400 cartridge filters.

When to replace rather than retighten

Bands corrode, stretch and lose their shape, and nuts seize. Any of those is a reason to fit a new assembly. This is the part holding a pressure vessel shut, so it is not one to improvise around with generic hardware.
