Product details
The Lasco 429-007 is a 3/4 in. PVC slip coupling. It has a solvent weld socket at each end, so it joins two lengths of 3/4 in. pipe into one continuous run.
Where it gets used
Around a pool, 3/4 in. line turns up on chemical feed lines, small return runs, drain lines and equipment pad tie ins. The slip coupling is the plainest fitting in that plumbing and it does two jobs: extending a run, and repairing one. For a repair, the damaged section is cut out, a fresh piece of pipe is cut to length, and a coupling goes on each end.
Making the joint
Cut the pipe square, deburr the end and wipe it clean and dry. Apply primer to the pipe end and the socket, then cement to both, push the pipe fully home with a quarter turn and hold it for a few seconds so it does not push back out. Let it cure before you put the system under pressure.
