Product details
The Lasco 449-015 is a 1-1/2 inch slip plug for PVC pool plumbing. It closes off a socket permanently, which is what you want on an unused return port, a stubbed line, or a tee left over from a change to the equipment pad.
Slip means it goes in
The plug body is sized to enter a fitting socket rather than to slide over the outside of a pipe. Prime and cement it the same way you would any slip joint, and the plug sits flush inside the port. There are no threads, so there is nothing to seal with tape and nothing to strip.
Where it earns its place
Plumbing changes leave open ports behind. A cemented plug is the clean answer where a rubber winter plug is only a seasonal fix. It is also useful when pressure testing a system, letting you blank one run so the rest can be filled and checked properly.
