Product details

The Lasco 401-020 is a 2 inch PVC tee with slip connections, the standard fitting for branching a 2 inch run of pool plumbing.

Slip connections

Slip means socket: the pipe goes straight into the fitting and the joint is made with primer and solvent cement, with no threads and no sealant tape. It is the simplest and strongest way to join PVC, and it is what most pool equipment plumbing is built from.

Where a tee gets used

A tee is how a second line comes off an existing run, whether that is an added return, a chemical feeder, a heater bypass or a spa line. On 2 inch plumbing, this is the size that matches most residential equipment pads.

Fit it dry first

Solvent cement grabs within seconds and the joint cannot be rotated afterward. Assemble the run dry, check that the branch points where you want it, and mark the pipe and the fitting so the alignment is repeated when the cement is on.
