SuperPro Teflon thread seal tape, part HTST520-1/2, in a 1/2 inch wide roll. It is the tape used on threaded pool and spa plumbing.
What it does
Wrapped onto a male thread before the fitting is made up, the tape fills the thread and lets the joint seal without being cranked down. On a pool pad that matters more than it does on steel plumbing, because most of what is being threaded together is plastic and a cracked port is a far bigger job than a weep.
Where it gets used
Pressure gauges, drain plugs, threaded unions and adapters, air relief fittings. It is one of those items that is only ever missing at the wrong moment, so a spare roll belongs in the kit.
