Product details
Fix a Leak from Marlig Industries is a blended concentrated material designed to seal leaks in virtually any material. It can be applied to leaks in the shell and works equally well in the plumbing, sealing holes up to 1/8 inch in diameter with a permanent seal. This is the 32 oz bottle, one quart.
Dosing
Use 1 quart per pool up to 22,000 gallons, and do not use in excess of 1 quart per 5,000 gallons of water. Shake the bottle well before using it.
Bypass the filter, then circulate
Before anything else, take the filter media out of the picture. Set a sand filter valve to recirculate, or pull the cartridges or DE elements out of the tank. Then, with the pump running, add the product slowly through the skimmer or another suction intake and adjust suction to the main drain. If that is not possible, put the vacuum head in the deepest part of the pool, connect it as normal and set the valve to the vacuum position.
Keeping it in suspension
The material is heavy and sinks to the lowest point quickly, so it has to be stirred back into suspension every 4 to 6 hours, either by hand with a pool broom or mechanically with an automatic cleaner, while the water circulates. Continue until the leak stops. Mark the water level and check it over 2 to 3 days to confirm, then allow 24 to 48 hours to cure before returning to normal filtration and backwashing or rinsing out the unused product. Never let cartridges or DE elements dry out before they are cleaned. The treatment can be repeated if necessary.
