Product details

This is the SuperPro 83060BU, a steel pressure gauge with a 2 inch face, a 0 to 60 psi scale and a 1/4 inch bottom mount connection. It is the standard replacement for a filter gauge that has stopped reading.

Why a working gauge matters

Filter maintenance is not run on a calendar, it is run on pressure. You note the reading with a clean filter, and when it climbs eight to ten pounds above that the media or the cartridges need attention. Take the gauge away and the whole method goes with it. A fogged face, a needle stuck off zero or a gauge reading high sends people into backwashing filters that were fine and leaving blinded ones in service until flow suffers.

Fitting

The stem is 1/4 inch and comes out of the bottom, so confirm your filter takes a bottom mount rather than a back mount before ordering. Use thread sealant tape sparingly and tighten by hand plus a light turn with a wrench. Overtightening a gauge into a plastic filter lid cracks the lid, which is a far more expensive part than the gauge.
