The Jandy R0556900 is the pressure gauge for the CJ series filter, supplied as a replacement kit. It is the genuine Jandy Pro Series part.

Why the gauge matters more than it looks

A filter gauge is the only instrument most pool owners have. Filter cleaning is not scheduled by the calendar, it is triggered by pressure: as the media loads with dirt, resistance rises and the gauge reading climbs. When the needle sits a set amount above the clean starting pressure, the filter needs attention. Without a working gauge that entire system of judgment disappears and the filter gets cleaned too early, wasting effort, or far too late, starving the pump and the heater of flow.

After you fit it

Install the new gauge, run the system until the pump is fully primed and the air is out of the filter, then write down the reading. That number is your clean baseline, and it is what every later reading is compared against. Baselines drift as media ages, so it is worth noting a fresh one after a deep clean or a media change.

How do I use the gauge to decide when to clean the filter?
Record the pressure with a clean filter and a primed pump. When the reading climbs a set amount above that number, usually 8 to 10 psi on a typical residential system, it is time to clean. Check your filter manual for the figure it specifies.
My gauge reads zero with the pump running. Is it broken?
Almost certainly. A gauge stuck at zero, fogged with water inside, or frozen at one reading has failed, and a filter running on a dead gauge gets cleaned by guesswork.
