The Rola-Chem 570361T is a top mount flowmeter for 2.5 inch PVC pipe, reading 70 to 240 gallons per minute.

Why a flowmeter

Flow rate is the number behind turnover, heater performance and filter sizing, and on a commercial pool it is usually what an inspector asks to see. A meter reading nothing, or reading obviously wrong, makes every one of those judgments guesswork. That is the point at which a clouded or clogged unit gets replaced.

Fitting and range

The meter is built for schedule 40 PVC pipe and is constructed to withstand water temperatures up to 200 degrees F. Check the range against your system before ordering, since a meter reading 70 to 240 GPM tells you nothing useful on a pool moving 40. Rola-Chem builds the same size in a vertical mount version, so pick the orientation that lets you actually read the face where the meter will sit.

What is the difference between top mount and vertical mount?
The orientation of the meter on the pipe and therefore where you read it from. Top mount reads from above. Rola-Chem makes the same 2.5 inch 70 to 240 GPM meter in a vertical mount version as a separate part.

How hot can the water be?
