Rola-Chem E-Z Glide is a silicone lubricant supplied in a 3 gm size, part number 523102. It is intended for the o-rings, gaskets and seals on pool equipment.
Why silicone and not grease
Rubber seals need a lubricant that will not attack them. Silicone leaves a slick film that helps the seal seat and lets it release cleanly next time, without swelling or softening the rubber. Petroleum based greases and household jelly do the opposite: the seal puffs, distorts and no longer fits its groove, and it usually fails within a season.
Using it
Clean the seal and the groove first, since lubricant over grit just holds the grit in place. Wipe a thin film over the o-ring by hand, seat it fully and close the housing. A 3 gm size covers a lot of o-rings when it is used that lightly.
