Rola-Chem 523250 is the eight inch Tygon pinch tube assembly, complete with its clamp, for the RC301 peristaltic chemical feed pump. It is the genuine part.
How a peristaltic pump works
There is no impeller and no seal touching the chemical. A rotor squeezes a flexible tube against the pump head and pushes the liquid along inside it. That is what makes these pumps tolerant of aggressive chemistry, and it is also why the tube is the part that wears out.
Why it is a scheduled item
The tube is compressed and released thousands of times an hour. Eventually it takes a set, loses its recovery, and then splits. When that happens the pump keeps running and sounds completely normal while no chemical reaches the pool, which is the failure that costs people a week of bad water before anyone checks the feeder. Change the tube on a schedule instead of waiting for it.

How often should the tube be changed?
On condition, and sooner than most owners expect. The roller squeezes the tube continuously while the pump runs, so it is a scheduled wear item rather than a repair part.
The pump runs but nothing is being fed. Why?
A split or flattened pinch tube is the usual cause. The motor and rollers keep turning, but a tube that has lost its shape or has failed no longer moves chemical.
