Product details
The Swimline 9210 is an economy floating thermometer for pools and spas. It floats at the surface and reads the water temperature at the level swimmers are in.
Why surface temperature is the useful reading
Water stratifies. The top foot warms in the sun while the deep end lags, and it is the surface layer that tells you whether the pool is comfortable and whether your heater or solar cover is doing anything measurable. A floating thermometer sits right in that layer instead of guessing from a pipe reading.
Keeping track of it
Floating thermometers drift with the return flow and end up under the cleaner or wedged in the skimmer. Running a length of line through the loop and tying it off near the steps keeps it where you can read it and out of the way of the equipment.
