This is the Lasco 448-020, a 2 inch PVC cap with a female threaded connection.
It threads onto a 2 inch male threaded pipe end or fitting to close the line. Because it is threaded rather than solvent welded, the cap comes back off when you need the port again, which makes it the sensible choice for a run you are taking out of service temporarily or a spare port you may plumb to later.
Use PTFE tape or a PVC rated thread sealant on the male threads, and tighten by hand plus a little. Threaded PVC does not need force, and overtightening is the usual way these fittings crack.
