The Polaris D50 is the genuine 10 foot leader hose for the Polaris 380, 280, 180 and 3900 pressure side cleaners.
What makes it the leader
The leader is the section of the hose that attaches closest to the cleaner. Its rubber is more pliable than the sections that run back toward the wall, which is deliberate. That flexibility lets the cleaner turn and climb without the hose resisting it.
Why it wears first
Because it is the section doing all the flexing, the leader takes the most abuse. When a cleaner starts getting hung up, tracking oddly or stalling in a corner, a leader that has gone stiff, kinked or split is one of the first things worth inspecting.
