The Polaris 9-100-3107 is the genuine leader hose with floats for the 280, 380 and Black Max pressure side cleaners, supplied in black.

The section that wears first

The leader hose is the length nearest the cleaner. It swings, twists and flexes constantly while the rest of the feed hose run stays comparatively still, so it is the section that stiffens, kinks or splits first. Replacing it on its own is far cheaper than replacing a whole hose set, and it usually solves the problem.

Floats are part of the job

The floats supplied on this hose hold it up in the water column instead of letting it lie on the floor. That matters more than it sounds. A hose dragging along the bottom picks up drag, upsets the cleaner path and gives you a machine that parks in one corner while the far end of the pool never gets touched. A fresh leader hose with its floats in place puts the cleaner back on its proper pattern.
