The Raypak 018146F is the water flow switch for Crosswind pool and spa heaters. It is a genuine Raypak product and fits Crosswind models I-30, I-40, I-50, I-65, O-40, O-50 and O-65.
What it does
The flow switch is a safety interlock. It has to see water moving through the heater before the control will let the unit run. That protects the heat exchanger from firing against still water, and it is why a heater with a failed switch simply refuses to start.
Diagnosing it
A no flow message with the pump running points at low flow first: a dirty filter, a partly closed valve, a low water level or a blocked impeller. If the plumbing checks out and flow is good, the switch has failed and a new one puts the heater back in service.
