The Raypak P-R266A-EN-C is a 266,000 BTU natural gas heater for inground pools and spas, part number 009217. It uses electronic ignition with a digital display, so there is no pilot to light and the water temperature is set and read from the panel. This is the version built for 0 to 2,000 ft elevation.

Built for the outdoors

The cabinet is corrosion resistant galvanized metal and the heat exchanger is copper fin tube, the combination Raypak uses on its fresh water heaters. The low profile design keeps the unit compact on the equipment pad, and the heater is engineered to run through a wide range of weather rather than only in mild conditions.

Before you order

Confirm the pool runs on natural gas, not propane, and that the site sits below 2,000 ft. Copper heat exchangers are the standard choice for fresh water pools. The heater ships by freight on a pallet, and installation should be done by a licensed gas fitter or pool professional to meet local code.

Is Raypak 009217 natural gas or propane?
Natural gas. Raypak builds the 266A for one fuel, and sells the propane heater as a separate part number. Its natural gas to propane conversion kits are sold by altitude.
What elevation is Raypak 009217 rated for?
0 to 2,000 ft, by Raypak's catalog. Raypak sells the same heater jetted for three bands: #50 for 0 to 2,000 ft, #51 for 2,000 to 6,000 and #52 for 6,000 to 9,000, each under its own part number.
