Why altitude matters
Air thins as you climb, and a burner orificed for sea level runs rich at 5000 ft. Raypak builds a separate version for the higher band so combustion stays clean and the heater delivers the output it is rated for. If your equipment pad sits below 2000 ft, order the standard model instead, Raypak part 009216.
Construction
A copper heat exchanger carries the heat into the water, and polymer headers stand up to the corrosion that eventually finds metal headers. The cabinet, controls and burner follow the R206A design that Raypak has built for years.
Controls
Temperature is set on the digital panel and the burner lights electronically, so there is no standing pilot to relight after a windy night.
