S.R. Smith aXs2 Pool Lift Parts

Check the serial sticker at the foot of the mast before ordering, because the aXs2 shares less with the other S.R. Smith lifts than it looks. Its 1001495 battery, 1001530 charger and 100-5000A actuator are the common ones, but the turning motor is its own 120-2100A, the control box is the 400-7000AX, and the hand control is the 1001600. A California aXs2 takes the BC control box, battery and charger. Most stops trace to the battery or the hand control plug before any of those.

Numbers are the manufacturer's own.

About S.R. Smith aXs2 Pool Lift Parts

The drawing is the exploded view from S.R. Smith's aXs2 owner's manual, badged at the manufacturer's item numbers. The list runs to 34 items and includes the screws, washers, nuts and bushing that hold the seat frame arm and the motor enclosure, so the drawing doubles as a hardware list. The motor and actuator cables and the hand control are on the list but not drawn. A part this store does not sell keeps its badge and number for reference.

Sold here: the 400-7000AX control box, the 1001600 hand control, the 120-2100A motor, the 100-5000A actuator, the 1001495 battery and 1001530 charger, the 1001498 battery bracket, the 160-2300A footrest kit, the 900-1000 seat belt and the 300-6600L locking deck anchor. The options are the AX9006 total cover, the 910-1000T console cover, the 970-5000 seat cover and the 900-6000 stability strap. For a California lift, the BC control box 400-7000AX-BC, the 1001495-BC battery and the 1001530-BC charger.

The aXs2 carries 300 lb, turns a full circle on a 46 in. mast and suits gutters with no more than 8 in. from deck to water; its base drops into a sleeve anchor in the deck. Its motor, motor enclosure, mast, arms and seat frame are its own. The deck side of a replacement is covered in which pool lift fits your pool.

Charge the battery fully before testing anything. If the lift will neither rise nor turn, check the battery connection and try a second charged pack; only then does the manual point to the control box. If one motion works and the other does not, run the lift from the control box's own buttons to separate the hand control from the motor or actuator. The pool lift battery and maintenance guide has the full routine.

Spare batteries and chargers, covers and anchors are filed on their own pages. Parts drawings for the other S.R. Smith lifts: PAL2, Splash! and multiLift2. The lifts themselves are on S.R. Smith pool lifts, and the parent page is Pool lift parts.

Questions about S.R. Smith aXs2 Pool Lift Parts

Is it the aXs2 hand control or the control box that failed?

Run the lift from the arrow buttons on the front of the 400-7000AX. If it moves from the panel but not from the handset, the 1001600 hand control is the fault, once you have checked that its plug is fully seated, its pins are straight and the cable is whole. If nothing moves from either, charge the battery fully and try a second charged pack. Only when a good battery still does nothing does the manual call for a new control box.

Does an aXs2 use the same motor as a Splash! or PAL2?

No. The aXs2 turns on its own 24 V DC motor, 120-2100A, wired through a separate motor cable and housed in the aXs2 motor enclosure, while the Splash! and PAL2 share the 120-1100. The lifting actuator is the one part of the drive they have in common: all three lists name the 100-5000A. The battery, charger and seat belt also cross over.

Which control box does a California aXs2 need?

The BC version, 400-7000AX-BC, in place of the standard 400-7000AX. Lifts sent to California since January 2018 use a CEC compliant charging system, so a BC lift also takes the 1001495-BC battery and the 1001530-BC charger, and none of the three mixes with standard parts. If the serial sticker or the old box's label shows BC, order all BC parts.

What holds the battery on an S.R. Smith aXs2?

The 1001498 battery bracket, which S.R. Smith also lists on the multiLift2 as its mount plate assembly. The pack sits on top of the control box with a latch that drops over tabs on that plate, and a lock plate can hold it in place. Seat the pack fully until the latch is captured, and wipe the contacts dry when you do, since moisture there is what the manual warns can stop the lift.

What do I lubricate on an S.R. Smith aXs2?

The gear assembly, with a heavy duty rust inhibitor such as LPS 3, on the schedule the manual prints. The rest is keeping water off the electronics: wipe the control box and battery contacts dry, scour the battery connections with a nylon pad when you clean, keep the console cover on, and look over the frame, mast, arms and seat for rust. Rinse the seat and belt with fresh water after use.
