What rubber base means

Pool coatings fall into families, and rubber base is one of them alongside epoxy and acrylic. The families are not interchangeable. A rubber base coating is designed to go onto a bare surface or onto an earlier rubber base coating, and putting it over the wrong chemistry is the usual reason a fresh paint job lifts within a season.
