Poxoprime II is the Olympic epoxy primer for unpainted concrete or plaster, supplied here in a 1 gallon can.
Why the primer matters
Bare plaster and concrete are highly absorbent. Paint applied straight onto them soaks in rather than building a film, which wastes the first coat and leaves an uneven surface. Poxoprime II seals the surface first and leaves a smoother profile for the finish coat.
What goes over it
Poxoprime II is a base coat for Poxolon or Zeron. It is not a finish coat and should not be left as one. It also must not be used in conjunction with rubber base paints; epoxy primer and rubber base paint are not a compatible system.
Coverage and conditions
Figure 200 to 225 square feet per gallon. Poxoprime II is compatible with wet surfaces, which is what shortens downtime on a repaint: the pool does not have to be bone dry before the primer can go on.
