Choosing an epoxy
Coating types do not mix. Epoxy bonds to bare prepared surfaces and to sound existing epoxy, but it will not hold over a rubber based or acrylic paint, and applying it that way ends in lifting and peeling. If nobody knows what is currently on the pool, test before you commit to the material.
