The Sta-Rite 18201-0200 is the 2 in. ABS side mount multiport valve, supplied as a kit with its piping and union nuts. It is used on the Sta-Rite S7D75, S8D110, S7S50 and S8S70 filters.
What a multiport valve does
A multiport valve replaces a bank of separate valves with one handle. Six positions cover the routines a filter needs, so filtering, backwashing and rinsing are a matter of moving the lever rather than repiping anything.
Construction and fitting
The body is molded ABS, which holds up to years of handle movement and weather at the equipment pad. Because the kit includes union nuts, the valve can be taken off later for service without cutting into the plumbing. Check that your filter is one of the four listed models before ordering, since top mount filters use a different valve.
