The Polaris R0836300 is the all-purpose filter canister for the Quattro Sport and P40 pressure side cleaner. It is the genuine Polaris part.
What the canister does
The Quattro Sport is built around an extra large intake and dual stage filtration, so it takes in acorns, leaves and pebbles alongside fine dirt. All of that has to go somewhere, and the canister is it. A transparent window shows the debris level, so the canister can be pulled and emptied on sight rather than on a guess.
Choosing the right canister
This is the all-purpose version, the one to run for general pool debris. Polaris also offers a fine filter basket canister and a blue filter canister assembly for the same cleaner, which are worth looking at if the pool is dropping mostly fine silt or mostly heavy leaf load. Replace a canister when it is cracked, when the lid no longer seals, or when the mesh is torn and debris is escaping back into the pool.
