Product details

The Hammerhead HH1251 is the stainless steel axle shaft collar keeper for the service cart. It is the collar that holds the HH1050 cart wheel to the cart frame, and it is often called a wheel keeper.

When you need one

Keepers get lost during a wheel or bearing change, and a stripped fitting is just as bad as a missing one. Either way the wheel is free to work its way off the axle, so the cart is out of service until the keeper is back on.

Fitting it

The keeper takes either a 5/32 allen wrench or a #25 star wrench, so check which fitting yours uses before you start. Stainless steel is the right material here, since the part lives in wet, chlorinated conditions that would rust a plain steel collar.
