This is the volute O-ring for Aqua-Flo pumps, Gecko part 92200300. It measures 6-1/2 inches inside diameter with a 3/32 inch cross section and is listed against the Flo-Master XP and XP2 series wet ends.
What it seals
The volute is the shaped housing the impeller spins inside. This O-ring is the seal between that volute and the rest of the wet end. When it hardens, flattens or tears, the pump pulls air past it instead of water, and the symptoms show up as a loss of prime, a rising air pocket in the pump lid, or a slow weep at the seam.
When to fit one
Any time the pump comes apart for an impeller, seal or wear ring job, a new volute O-ring goes back in. It is a small part next to the labor of pulling the pump twice.
