Oatey 1246S is the 1200 Series medium bodied clear PVC solvent cement, packaged in a 16 ounce can. It is the standard weight of cement for the PVC plumbing found around a pool equipment pad.
Medium bodied and clear
Medium body is the middle viscosity in the range. It stays put in the fitting long enough to make the joint without running off the pipe, and it fills the small gap a normal socket leaves. The clear formula dries without color, so exposed plumbing at the pad does not end up streaked with blue.
Match the cement to the pipe
Solvent cements are not interchangeable across materials. This one is made for PVC. CPVC and ABS need their own products, and a joint made with the wrong cement can let go under pressure. Because clear cement leaves no visible mark, many installers pair it with a colored primer so a finished joint can be checked at a glance.
