Product details

The AquaStar P18101 is an 18 in. square mud frame fitted with four 9 in. square star pattern suction outlet covers and vented riser rings, built to the VGB Series anti-entrapment standard.

Fit and flow

The frame retrofits onto standard 18 in. square, 3/4 in. deep mud frames using the same 8-1/4 in. center to center screw spacing, so it can replace an older four-cover grid assembly without new concrete work. Combined, the four covers open 160.8 sq. in. of flow area and the assembly is rated for 740 GPM at 1.5 fps.

Materials and compliance

The covers are molded from UV-resistant engineered polymer, tested to ASTM G154 for UV exposure, and the assembly meets ANSI/APSP 16-2011 and NSF 50-2008 national standards. A molded VGB compliance button on each cover lets an inspector confirm 2008 anti-entrapment compliance from the deck or underwater. Mounting screws are number 316 stainless steel for long service life in pool water.
