This is a pack of six Aquamoto grey directional flow eyeball inlet jets with a 1/2 in. opening and a standard 1-1/2 in. thread. An installation tool is included in the pack.

What the eyeball does

The eyeball is the last thing water passes through on its way back into the pool, and it is the cheapest control you have over circulation. It swivels, so the flow can be aimed. Point the returns down and away from the skimmer and the whole body of water rotates, which keeps debris moving toward the skimmer instead of settling in the same corners.

The 1/2 in. opening

A narrower opening raises the velocity of the return for the same pump. That is the choice to make when one end of a long pool never seems to turn over, or when the surface goes still on the far side.

Six at a time

Eyeballs go brittle, chalk up and lose their grip in the fitting after years in the sun and the sanitizer. Doing all of them at once costs little and gets the circulation back to a known state, and the included tool makes seating and removing them a job you can do without a screwdriver marking up the fitting.
