The Hayward SP1023 is the threaded wall return inlet fitting for vinyl liner and above ground pools, supplied complete with its locknut and gaskets. The connection is a 1-1/2 inch female inside pipe thread, and the fitting is white.
How it goes in
The fitting passes through a 2-1/4 inch diameter hole in the pool wall. Gaskets sit either side of the wall and the locknut draws the assembly up tight, which is what makes the joint watertight. On the plumbing side, a threaded pipe or a male adapter screws into the female thread.
Buying the whole fitting
Because the kit includes the locknut and gaskets, this is the part to order when the fitting body is cracked, cross threaded or missing. If the body is sound and only the seal has hardened, the rubber gaskets are available separately as a pair.
