The Hayward SP1419ABLK is the slotted Hydrostream jet fitting in black. It threads into a standard return line on 1-1/2 inch MIP and narrows the outlet to 3/8 of an inch, which turns a broad return flow into a directed stream.
Setting up circulation
Return fittings do more than put water back in the pool. Aimed properly they drive the whole circulation pattern, pushing surface debris toward the skimmer and keeping dead spots from forming in corners and behind steps. This fitting is fully adjustable, so the direction can be set once the pump is running and the effect can be seen.
Choosing the finish
Black suits dark tile and dark interior finishes, where a white fitting stands out. The same slotted Hydrostream is available in white for lighter pools, listed separately.
