Product details

This is the CMP white eyeball jet fitting with a slot opening, part number 25552-000-000, on a standard 1-1/2 inch threaded connection. It is a Hydrostream style return fitting, and the threaded size means it fits most pool walls without adapting anything.

Slotted, not round

A plain eyeball puts out a concentrated round jet. The slot in this one spreads that same flow into a wider fan, so the water is moved across a broader area rather than driven hard in one line. On pools where the returns are close to the surface, that is the difference between good circulation and a permanent ripple in one spot.

Aim it deliberately

The eyeball swivels in its seat, and where you point it does more for water quality than most owners expect. Aim returns toward the end of the pool furthest from the skimmer and angle them slightly down. That sets the whole body of water rotating, brings floating debris around to the skimmer, and stops the still corners where algae gets its start. Returns aimed straight out or upward tend to leave those corners untouched.
