Product details

The AquaStar WAV12WR103SSB is a 12 inch square Wave suction outlet cover in light gray, supplied with the PVC sump that goes under it. Cover and sump are one part number, so the whole outlet arrives together.

Ports

The sump gives you a side port with a 3 inch socket and a 4 inch spigot, and a bottom port with a 2 inch socket and a 2 1/2 inch spigot. It comes with 3 inch and 2 inch NPT caps and o-rings, which is what you use to pressure test the line at installation and to close it off for winter.

Certification

The components meet or exceed ANSI/APSP 16-2011 and NSF/ANSI 50-2009a, and the material is tested to ASTM G154 for UV exposure. The cover itself carries AquaStar trademarked compliance button, which lets an inspector or an owner confirm VGB 2008 compliance from the deck or from in the water without lifting anything.

Materials and service life

The cover is molded from UV-resistant engineered polymers and fastens with 316 stainless steel screws, so neither sun nor pool water shortens its life the way they would with lesser materials. AquaStar still specifies replacing the drain cover every five years from the date of installation, and that interval applies regardless of how good the cover looks.
