Product details

This is the SuperPro FC-1978 replacement filter cartridge for the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 520, part of the four cartridge set that filter carries. It measures 7 inches by 32 1/16 inches and suits filters built after 11/98.

Order four for a full change

A Clean and Clear Plus 520 holds four cartridges. Replacing one out of four is a false economy: the fresh element takes the load while the three tired ones keep passing dirt, so the set goes in together.

Cross references

The same cartridge is sold under a long list of numbers. It cross references to Pentair R173578, 160332 and 178585, Pleatco PCC130, PCC130-M and PCC130-PAK4, Unicel C-7472 and C-7472RA, and Filbur FC-1978 and FC-6475. It also appears as XLS-706, 22505 and PC-1978. Whichever number is printed on your old element, this is the same part.

A note on the rating

The source data carries two square footage figures for this cartridge, 130 square feet in the product title and 125 square feet in the manufacturer description. Both are published here rather than picking one. The part number, the dimensions and the fit are unaffected.
