Product details

This is the replacement filter cartridge for the Waterco CC150, part number 62051, rated at 150 square feet of filter area.

What the cartridge does

The pleated element is the filter. Water passes through the pleats, dirt stays behind, and the surface area of those pleats is what determines how long the filter runs between cleanings. As the element loads, pressure at the gauge climbs and flow to the returns drops off.

When to replace rather than clean

Rinsing the pleats is normal maintenance and it buys plenty of time. What it cannot remove is the oils and very fine material worked deep into the fabric over seasons of use. When a cartridge comes back from a proper cleaning and the filter pressure is still high, the element has reached the end of its life.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which filter does this fit?
The Waterco CC150 cartridge filter.
How big is the cartridge?
It is rated at 150 square feet of filter area.
How often should a cartridge be replaced?
Cleaning extends the life, but every cartridge eventually loads up with body oils and fine debris that will not rinse out. When a freshly cleaned element still runs high pressure, it is done.
Can I just hose it off instead?
Rinsing between the pleats is the routine maintenance and it works for a while. It does not undo the deep loading that builds up over seasons, which is what eventually forces a replacement.
