Product details

This is the Baker Hydro deluxe gunite in-ground pool skimmer, Waterco part 50W1051, with 2 inch ports. It is the concrete construction version of the skimmer, the one set into a gunite wall.

What the skimmer does

The skimmer is the first stage of the whole circulation system. It draws surface water in, holds leaves and debris in the basket before they can sink and stain, and feeds the pump. A cracked skimmer body loses suction, pulls air into the pump, and can leak water into the ground behind the wall, which is why a failed one is worth replacing rather than patching.

Sizing and construction

Ports are 2 inch, so check that against the plumbing you are tying into. This is the concrete pool version. If your pool is a vinyl liner build, Baker Hydro lists a deluxe vinyl liner in-ground skimmer under its own number, and the two are not interchangeable.

Parts and accessories

The listing covers the skimmer itself. The Baker Hydro skimmer lid is a separate item, so order it alongside if you need one.
