The Hayward SP1082 is an automatic surface skimmer from the Skim-Master Auto-Skim SP1080 Series, supplied in white with a square cover and dual 2 inch FPT outlets.
How it is built
The body is molded from rugged, non-corrosive ABS and has no joint below water level. That single point matters more than any other on a skimmer, because a seam behind a pool wall is the leak nobody finds for years.
Adjustment
Two adjustments make the difference between a skimmer that works and one that fights the pool. The cover collar gives 1.5 inch of vertical travel so the lid can be brought flush with the finished deck. The snap-in weir then adjusts automatically to 4.5 inch of variation in water level, so the skimmer keeps drawing a thin surface layer instead of stalling when the pool drops after a busy weekend.
Plumbing
Two 2 inch female threaded outlets are provided, which gives you a choice of routing on the suction line and a second port for a dedicated vacuum or equalizer line. A float and by-pass valve is available as an option and is ordered separately.
