The Hayward SP1072S2BLK is the black SkimMaster skimmer for gunite pools, with 2 inch socket connections.

The gunite body

SkimMaster bodies are made in versions matched to how the pool is built. This is the gunite version, designed to be set into the shell during construction and tied into the deck. The black finish suits darker coping and deck work where a white lid would stand out.

Socket versus threaded

The 2 inch ports on this skimmer are socket, so pipe solvent welds straight in. Hayward builds the same skimmer with FPT threaded ports for installations that need a threaded joint, and it is worth confirming which one your plumber has specified before the pour.

Choosing within the range

The SkimMaster line also runs in white and tan, and in versions fitted with a float valve. If your job needs a different color or the float option, those are separate Hayward part numbers.
