Product details
The Fiberstars Y10-4005 is the color wheel motor assembly for the 1504 and 2004. It is supplied as a complete assembly and goes in place of the original.
What it does
The color wheel sits in front of the light source, and the motor turns it. That rotation is the whole reason the light changes color. When the motor stops, the wheel parks wherever it happens to be, and the light stays on but locks to a single shade.
Diagnosing it
A lamp that lights normally but no longer cycles color points at the wheel drive rather than the light source. If the lamp itself is dim or dark, look elsewhere first. Replacing the assembly restores the color change without touching the rest of the unit.
