The WPCTC is the replacement time clock for the WPC-2 wireless pool control. It is the clock alone, sold both as a spare for a control whose clock has failed and as an additional clock where another timed circuit is wanted.

What it runs

The listing points it at a pool cleaner booster pump, the circuit a WPC-2 is most commonly set up to switch. A booster pump only runs on a schedule, so when the clock stops the pressure side cleaner simply never starts, even though the filter pump and the rest of the pad look normal.
