The Intermatic T104P201 is a 24 hour DPST mechanical time switch in a plastic enclosure, rated 208 to 277 volts. It carries Intermatic heater protection.
The heater protection function
This model is set up to shut a gas fired swimming pool heater off approximately 20 minutes before the filter pump stops. Those 20 minutes let the pump keep pulling water through the heat exchanger while it cools. Without them, hot water sits still inside the heater, and the result is the pounding and knocking owners describe as the heater banging, plus scale and lime deposits that build up over seasons. Running the heater down first avoids all of that and adds service life.
Timing and switching
The clock gives up to 12 ON and OFF operations a day with a minimum one hour ON or OFF period. Switching is DPST, and Intermatic builds these heavy duty mechanical time switches for commercial, industrial and residential work with the highest motor load ratings in the industry.
