Product details

The Intermatic T101P3 is a 24-hour mechanical time switch supplied in a NEMA Type 3R plastic enclosure. It gives on and off control of 120 volt equipment, most often a pool pump, on a fixed daily schedule.

How it works

The dial makes one full turn every 24 hours. Trippers clamped to the dial catch the switch as they come around and throw it, so the schedule is set physically rather than programmed. The dial accepts up to 12 on and off operations in a single day, which covers everything from one long filtration run to several short cycles. Switching is SPST, a single pole making and breaking one leg of the circuit.

The enclosure

This version comes in the Type 3R plastic box, rated for outdoor use on an equipment pad. Intermatic builds the same mechanism into several packages: bare mechanism only, Type 3R metal enclosure, and a version with pool heater protection, each with its own part number. Confirm which package you need before ordering, since the mechanism inside is the part that is shared.

A mechanical clock has one practical advantage over a digital controller: after a power outage there is nothing to reprogram, the dial simply keeps its trippers where they were and picks the schedule back up.

What voltage does it switch?
120 volts. Intermatic makes a 208 to 277 volt version of the same time switch as a separate part number.
Is the enclosure included?
