Product details

The Intermatic PX100 is a 100 watt safety transformer that steps 120 V line power down to low voltage for pool lights, spa lights, submersible fixtures and outdoor garden lighting.

Selectable output taps

The secondary is tapped for 12, 13 or 14 V. That choice exists because voltage drops over a long run of wire. A fixture at the far end of a buried run may see noticeably less than the transformer sends, and moving up a tap brings it back into range so the lamp reaches full brightness and full rated life.

Safety construction

A grounded shield sits between the primary and secondary windings, which is what makes this a safety transformer rather than a plain step down unit: it keeps line voltage separated from the low voltage side feeding fixtures in and around water. Built in circuit protection disconnects power if a defect or an overload appears.

Sizing and mounting

Input is 120 V at 3 amps and output capacity is 100 watts, so total the wattage of every fixture on the circuit before you commit. The beige steel enclosure measures 7.25 inches high, 5.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
