The Fiberstars Y10-8010 is the color wheel motor assembly for the 6008 fiber optic illuminator. It is the part that drives the color wheel around in front of the lamp.
How the color change happens
A fiber optic lighting system puts one lamp in a box on the equipment pad and sends the light down fiber to the pool. Color changing is mechanical: a wheel of colored segments rotates slowly through the beam, and whatever segment is in front of the lamp is the color that reaches the water. When the drive stops, the light stays on but the color freezes wherever the wheel stopped.
Before ordering
Check that the lamp is still lighting and that nothing is physically obstructing the wheel. A jammed wheel and a failed drive look identical from the pool side, and only one of them needs this part.
