The Raypak 018933F is the ignition board kit for the AVIA Model 404A pool heater. Raypak also lists this kit against the Model 404.
What the board does
The ignition board runs the lighting sequence. When the heater calls for heat, the board manages the ignitor, opens the gas valve and watches for a proven flame, then holds the burner or shuts it down depending on what it sees. Nothing about the heater firing happens without it.
Before you replace it
A heater that will not light is not always a board. An ignitor, a gas supply problem or a safety device that is doing exactly what it should can produce the same symptom. Diagnose the fault before ordering, because a control board is generally not returnable once it has been installed.
