The Raypak 003899F is the propane gas combination valve with 1/2 in. connections, used on the millivolt pool heaters Raypak names as model 53, 53A and 406A. It is the genuine OEM part.
What the valve does
A combination valve is the single gas control for the heater. The manual cock, the pilot safety circuit and the main valve all sit in one body, so gas to the pilot and gas to the burners are governed by the same part. On a millivolt heater there is no electronic ignition board behind it: the pilot generates the small voltage that holds the valve open, which is why a tired valve or a weak pilot generator shows up as a heater that lights and then drops out.
Confirm the fit before ordering
This is the propane valve, not the natural gas one, and fitting the wrong gas type is not a repair you can adjust your way out of.
