The Raypak 010090F is the refractory kit for the 266A gas heater, supplying both the front and the rear refractory in one part number. It is the genuine Raypak replacement.
What refractory does
Refractory is the insulating material that lines the ends of the combustion chamber. It holds heat where the burners need it and keeps flame off the surrounding metal. When it cracks through or breaks apart, the heater loses that shield and the damage moves on to parts that cost a great deal more than a refractory kit.
