Polaris R0836400 is the fine filter basket canister assembly for the Quattro Sport and P40 pool cleaners. It is the genuine Polaris part.

What the fine canister does

The Quattro carries its debris in a canister that slides into the body of the cleaner. The fine version is the one to run when the pool is picking up silt, pollen and fine dust, because the finer media holds material that a coarser canister passes straight through.

Choosing between canisters

Polaris lists an all purpose canister and a blue canister for the same cleaner, and each is its own part number. Plenty of owners keep more than one and swap them by season, running the fine canister through pollen drop and the all purpose canister the rest of the year.

Replace a canister when the media is torn, permanently clogged or no longer seals into the cleaner.
