PoolTite 2300 Series is a professional grade medium bodied hot blue PVC solvent cement from Oatey, supplied here in a 1 pint can. It is rated for all schedules and classes of flexible and rigid PVC pipe and fittings up to 6 inch with an interference fit.
Why the blue formula
It is a fast setting cement formulated for wet conditions and for quick pressurization. Pool plumbing rarely gives you a bone dry pipe and a long cure window, which is exactly the situation this formula is built for. The blue color also makes it obvious on the joint that cement was actually applied.
Two things to know
It is compliant with California SCAQMD Rule 1168 and with Ozone Transport Commission regulations for VOC emission levels, so it can be used in low VOC jurisdictions. It is not for use in a system using or being tested by compressed air or gases, so pressure test with water only.
